The project

Soma Forrest is a young festival launched in July 2020 by a passionate team of organizers and it was held for 2 days in an old abandoned military base, near Bucharest.The organizers wanted to reassure their participants and staff that COVID19 health measure are implemented to the highest standard so they partnered up with Payvent to implement cashless payments, online ticketing and access control. They managed to deliver a safer customer experience, reduce queues and contact points while increasing the on-site spending. The unseen before data gathered during the event will help them to learn and improve the customer experience for next year’s edition.

The main objectives

The organizers wanted to set a high standard for their customers and staff while maintaing a close look on the profitability of the festival.

  • improve COVID19 safety measures
  • simple online ticketing for multiple credential types
  • secure the event to eliminate ticket fraud
  • increase on-site spending
  • reduce fraud and theft from bars and top-up
  • gather data about sales performance and transparency into vendor sales

The result

Payvent and Soma Forest managed to reach all their proposed objectives for this project:

  • reassured the customers and staff about high standard COVID19 safety measures
  • reduce queues and transaction times and increasing on-site spend per head
  • almost removed all cash theft and provided complete transparency with bars&food vendors
  • secure the event to eliminate ticket fraud
